2018 Charlotte Parade of Homes
Looking for something free to do this weekend (Oct. 12-14) or next? Well, you’re in luck! The 2018 Charlotte Parade of Homes is back. Running every year for the first three weekends in October, this free event showcases the area’s newest, snazziest living spaces. Price price points start in the upper-200’s.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte has been an area organization since 1945 and has offered this annual tour since 1989. The association is comprised of home builders, developers, and industry professionals who all believe in the same thing: promoting the American dream of home ownership. They advocate for housing that is environmentally responsible, affordable, and built with the highest standards.
This year’s tour features 61 such homes spanning almost 50 communities.
Featured home builders include:
Adams Homes; Alan Simonini Homes LLC; Arthur Rutenberg Homes; Avencia Homes; Bonterra Builders; Epcon Communities; Essex Homes; Fielding Homes; Grandfather Homes; Kolter Homes; Meritage Homes; Niblock Homes; Saussy Burbank; Shea Homes; Smith Douglas Homes; Taylor Morrison; Terrata Homes; and Toll Brothers.
In an interview with Charlotte Business Journal, Kathryn Lewis, the executive vice president of the association states, “The Parade of Homes showcases new homes with the latest design trends, colors, and materials.”
Tours run Oct. 12-14 and Oct. 19-21. The Fridays and Saturday tours run from 11a.m. to 6p.m, and 1-6p.m. on Sundays. The event is free and does not require registration. Those wishing to participate don’t have to tour all of the homes, either. In fact, participants can visit the Parade of Homes website for a sneak peak of the homes and to map out which route they’d like to take.
The website also offers information on the new Parade of Homes mobile phone app which is designed to help tour-goers navigate the homes they wish to visit.
