A rezoning has been proposed for a new condo development in Wesley Heights. Residents have begun to voice their concerns to the developers at Drakeford Company during a recent meeting. Wesley Heights is a classically historic neighborhood and residents are concerned about the impacts a modern condo development would have not only on this neighborhood, but on other nearby historic neighborhoods like Dilworth and Plaza Midwood. They fear a development like this could set a dangerous precedent for future modern developments.
However, some residents are in favor of the development as long as it is not too close to their own homes. There is an fine balance developers will need to make to keep the historic value of the neighborhood and keep residents happy, while still catering to the growing population and increasing property value of the neighborhood in question.
The project is still in its early stages but to read more about the potential implications of such a project, be sure to check out the full article at wsoctv.com
