For over 40 years, the historic neighborhood of Dilworth has quite literally opened its doors to the community for the annual and wildly popular Dilworth Home Tour.

The neighborhood was established way back in the 1890s as Charlotte’s first street car neighborhood and has been a coveted place to live ever since. Homes for sale are a rarity and move quickly, and home tours like the Dilworth Home Tour help to form that desire to live there. Proceeds from ticket sales go toward preserving the unique charm of the neighborhood, as well as local non-profit that changes annually. This year, a portion of the proceeds benefit New Dilworth Elementary.

Tickets are on sale now and the tour dates are September 14 from 6-9pm and September 15 from 10am-4pm. The tour features seven historic homes and their gardens, each boasting a unique element of their own, be it a hidden bedroom, a bathroom with no mirrors, or original light fixtures.

You can purchase tickets at various area locations around Charlotte including Dilworth Drug & Wellness or Park Road Books (these two locations accept cash or check only), Paper Skyscraper, or Ultra Running Company. Tickets are $25 at these locations, or $30 the day of the tour. Online purchase is also an option with details being outlined at the Dilworth Home Tour website.

This year, opt to cycle through the tour for free using bikes from Sodoma Law on East Blvd. After the tour, enjoy ½ price wine at Bonterra using your ticket as proof.

Get your tickets now for one of Charlotte’s oldest and grandest traditions and fall in love with Dilworth!
