Cat and coffee lovers, rejoice! A new space is soon to open up that will combine café perks along with our feline friends, just in time for the warm summer months.

It is not uncommon for cafés, patio spaces and breweries around Charlotte to be dog friendly. But now, a new concept is going to be opening up mid summer in either Plaza Midwood or NoDa, and it will be Charlotte’s first “cat cafe”.

Rather than giving owners the option to bring their own cats, the café will host 10 to 15 cats that are up for adoption. The goal of Mac Tabby is to be a “community gathering spot for local artists, musicians and yogis and more.”

The café will serve coffee, wine and local beers, with the hopes of having food trucks outside for noshing options. Guests of Mac Tabby will have to pay by the hour, and reservations are encouraged although not required.

Similar concepts have opened in big cities like Washington, DC. and Los Angeles. For more details on this cat café opening and what it could mean for the neighborhood, be sure to read the full article at CharlotteObserver.com.
