Craft Beer Tavern to Open Uptown Location

 In Charlotte Development

Opening on March 12, nationwide chain World of Beer will be gracing Uptown Charlotte with its presence. The tavern chain chose a 5,000 square foot location in the hub of everything: Charlotte’s Epicentre. The lack of a craft beer presence in the heart of the city’s center was a driving force behind selecting the location which, when open, will offer more than 400 beer selections.

While the majority of these offerings come from all around the world (hence the name), there will be at least 25 local on-tap options from breweries in and around the Charlotte metro region.

General Manager Ashish Thakker explains. “We like to create an environment for people to gather,” he says. “The Charlotte community is really into the craft beer scene. We found uptown just doesn’t have as much presence as we like.”

At one time, World of Beer operated a location in SouthEnd but it has since rebranded to Helles & Dunkel.

With Uptown’s draw as a hub of activity, World of Beer should do exceptionally well. They will offer a full gastropub kitchen with menu items like flatbreads, burgers, tacos, and salads. You’ll also find World of Beer’s signature shareable item, a German pretzel with house-made mustard and beer cheese.

The location in Epicentre, next to Tin Roof on the second level, boasts patio seating and will be an ideal location to catch a game, relax with friends or kick it for happy hour with coworkers all while taking in the iconic Charlotte skyline. New hangout options like World of Beer serve as a reminder of the ever-expanding options Charlotte offers for dining and entertainment and further solidifies it as a great place to live.
